Dubwise Hi-Fi & MindStep are celebrating the upcoming I-Mitri & Jeph1 "Blaze" Single which is coming out soon on the London-based "MindStep" record label.

For this reason we invite 4 special guests from UK:
DJ Stryda representing the UK Roots Reggae and Dub duo Dubkasm, straight from Bristol! I-mitri from Leicester controlling the mic, MindStep's label head honcho Crises, plus Trashbat representing the MindStep label too!

Also in the line-up the Dubwise Hi-Fi usual suspects: Anna Mystic & Amp Outernational, plus the man Jeph1 celebrating one of his first releases.

Dubkasm is one of the key components in the international roots and dub movement, originally formed in 1994 during the emergence period of the UK ‘digital dub’ sound. Their WORK first appeared two years later on the complilation album ‘Dub Out West’ (Nubian Records NRLP15). Branching into new musical realms, their 2009 Transform I set went on to be reinvented by Bristol’s finest Dubstep producers, featuring remixes by Pinch, Peverelist, Appleblim & Gatekeeper, Headhunter, Guido, Gemmy, RSD, Hyetal, Forsaken and Jakes. They continue to release material and play live across the globe.

Sufferah’s Choice Recordings is an independent record label based in the iconic town of Bristol, UK. Named after DJ Stryda’s renowned Bristol radio show, it has been a vehicle for Dubkasm’s music since 2003 and is known for its authentic yet innovative sounds and philosophy.

Dubkasm’s first release on Sufferah’s Choice in 2003 was a 12 inch featuring ‘Hornsman Trod’ and ‘Strictly Ital’, two UK roots instrumentals with the latter featuring Bristol’s own Ras Addis. Since then they have collaborated with many of the UK’s greats including cult legends such as Aba Shanti-I, Iration Steppas, Levi Roots and Dub Judah. Their debut album ‘Transform I’ saw the duo incorporate Brazilian instrumentation and vocals, the result of many years WORK carried out between the musical hubs of their hometown Bristol and Brazil, where Digistep lived for five years.

"Modern roots reggae at its finest" - Steve Barker, Wire Magazine

It all started in Athens back in the year 1998, when a group of friends (musicians + sound engineers), experimenting with various sounds and musical styles formed Atiko Minus Project. Two years later and after many gigs as a live band in Greece the focus shifted towards the mastering of studio production processes. A.M.P. finds its way through the sounds of conscious Roots Reggae and Dub music and lands in the U.K. The musical message coming out loud and thunderous from Sound Systems like Jah Shaka, Aba-Shanti-I and Iration Steppas planted the seed.

In 2006 A.M.P. Outernational releases its first 7’’ “Green” in the UK and gets repressed 3 times!! Since then the label A.M.P Outernational has released several “sound killer” tunes such as “iWisa”, “Zulu”, “Pressure Drop” and “Mr. Warmonger” featuring Echo Ranks. Other collaborations include African Simba “The Warriors are Moving” 10” - “Cultural Revolution” 10”, Radical G “Ten Thousand Soldiers” 10” (THC Records), Their “Dr Who” dubplate is a staple in Iration Steppas dubplates box for years now!

A.M.P, returned in Athens, keeping a strong connection with the UK scene through I-Mitri (Counteraction), WORKING ON new releases and performing live. “They have been blasting out a terrifically authentic sound rooted in proper Dub Sound system culture, driven by propulsive 4/4 steppers rhythms rub-a-dubbed to perfection and designed to hit strong and heavy when deployed on a rig with bins big enough to carry that bass properly” (Boomkat review, 2007)

During the summer of 2007 they built their own hand-crafted, bass-heavy soundsystem and embarked on a mission to effectively deliver the message of Reggae music to the Greek public. The beginning of autumn (same year) and along with selectors Mashdown45, MistaOperator, AnnaMystic, they presented DUBWISE HI-FI for the first of many legendary nights at AN Club (Athens), and since then they have been setting the standard for reggae and dub selection in Greece the way it was always intended!

As a DJ/Selector he often gets the OPPORTUNITY to share his love for dub music playing locally and internationally, representing the UK Dub sound system tradition.
